Model:
Simultaneous Happening

How do we perceive the pulse of the land? Is it through observing the behavioral traces of flora and fauna, searching for signs of land activity, or understanding through language the experiences of interaction between people and the land? Perhaps it's by sensing the land's movements during tremors to perceive its pulse? Regardless of the method, each is a closely linked way of connecting with the land, existing in a dual state of safety and insecurity. The work explores the continual oscillation between (in)security and (un)certainty in the interaction with nature.

In the artwork, the concept of "model" is employed to present a multifaceted representation of perceiving the land, forming complex connections. Simultaneously, the piece attempts to explore the relationship between humans and nature, delving into the space between omens and the yet-to-occur. It aims to contemplate more possibilities for the coexistence of humans and nature from the present moment.

The sounds in the artwork are not actual calls of real animals but rather imitations created by Matia from the Kanding Tribe. He mentioned that the imitation process requires a significant amount of time spent observing, waiting, and continuously adjusting until the imitated sounds do not scare away the animals. Interestingly, even during the sound collection process, it attracted the approach of birds. At that moment, Matia developed an interest in the process of separation and closeness between animals and himself, delving into the nature of the differences in the process. It is not merely about sound similarity or imitation but an exploration of what lies behind the sound.
